Exactly one year ago, Haiti was ravaged by an earthquake which still affects the region to this very day. As we’ve emphasized in the past, relief is not an effort that ends as soon as the disaster is over. The Doing Good Campaign is aware of this fact, and we have made it a priority to help all who are still in dire need in the region.
Through The Stafford Foundation, the campaign has continuously raised funds for Haiti specifically, as well as matching donations dedicated to relief efforts. To date, the foundation has raised approximately $100,000 for Haiti relief. The Doing Good Campaign also donated shoes to people in need in Thomonde, Haiti by collaborating with FarmHaiti, an organization which helps small land farmers earn the tools and education necessary to sustain their own farms. We purchased, shipped, and donated 1,000 pairs of shoes, which were then distributed by FarmHaiti volunteers.
These efforts are but a fraction of what is needed to help Haiti recover. One year later, the devastation that the nation faced after the earthquake is far from over. Please join us throughout 2011 in helping Haiti to pick up the pieces and rebuild.
