Give Before You Get 2011

The Give Before You Get (GBYG) project encourages homeless and underserved individuals to spread the spirit of Christmas by delivering gifts to hospital patients in the DC Metropolitan area, even before they received gifts themselves.

 GBYG Impact

We have all experienced the joy of giving to others, of helping someone in need. When we give, not only are we providing for that person, we are also building our own pride, self-respect, and dignity. Simply put: it feels good to give. We believe that giving to others provides a wonderful feeling that can transform our perspectives on ourselves and our world.

The Give Before You Get Project provides a unique opportunity for those who are usually the receivers – the homeless and underserved – and empowers them to become givers to those in need. In this way, these new givers are able to share in the joy of Christmas in a way that perhaps they have never had the opportunity to before.
